Faz algum tempo que não me dedico a este blog contando um pouco dos meus trabalhos em fotografia, mas a tarefa de ser mãe me tomou um pouco desse tempo... Agora vou retomando aos poucos, começando pelos trabalhos mais antigos.

Long time since my last post where I write a little bit about my work on photography. The reason is that I became a mother and my time for those thing changed bit. now I will start the post with some of old jobs and also new ones.

Durante 1 semana estive no Rio de Janeiro fotografando com um equipe de quase 30 pessoas este trabalho para a empresa Suíça SONOVA. Modelos reais e usuários dos aparelhos auditivos dessa marca. Gente do Brasil todo dedicou um tempo para a realização dessas imagens. Equipe foi incrível!

During a week I was in Rio de Janeiro doing this photo shooting for SONOVA with team of almost 30 people. It was all real models that uses the hearing aids from this brand. Team and the models were incredible!

During december 2012 I went to show a long-length documentary in Havana Film Festival and stayed traveling a bit around Havana and Trinidad. It was a incredible "looking abroad" trip. Must go again!

O portal de fotografia PDN online tem uma base de fotógrafos no mundo inteiro e funciona como uma assessoria de comunicação de certa forma. Tenho publicado meus trabalhos no PhotoServe há mais de 2 anos e fui convidade em dezembro de 2012 pela Jacqui Palumbo a falar um pouco do meu último trabalho autoral, que fiz durante o ano de 2011 na Fazenda Catuçaba, no interior de São Paulo.

Editorial | Audubon Magazine

In november 2011 I went on a trip in south o Brazil to do a essay on Pampa`s Grasslands for Audubon Magazine through my agency based in New York, Novus Select. It was my first assignment to Audubon Magazine, after a visit in their office in 2011. It was a very rich experience to know a place so far in my own country and I could understand a little bit about organic meat in this very specific place in Rio Grande do Sul state. Get to know the nature, the beautiful landscape and how they keep that so intact. Great trip!!

Em novembro de 2011, fiz uma viagem para os pampas gaúchos no sul do Brasil para revista americana Audubon, através de minha agência baseada em Nova York, Novus Select. A matéria foi publicada 1 ano depois. Foi uma experiência incrível, conhecer um lugar tão distante e ter a oportunidade de conhecer um pouco daquela cultura dos Pampas, saber como é possível o pasto orgânico e consequentemente a carne orgânica. Sair em busca dos diferentes pássaros que só existem ali, justamente em função do tipo de pasto, foi uma viagem que valeu a pena cada situação. Paisagens lindas e ainda intactas.

Portfolio | Digital Photographer Magazine

A while ago a friend invited me to be part of Talento session of Digital Photographer Magazine. I was very honored to be part of this session, because is an opportunity to show and talk about my personal work. After a discussion about what work on photography  I should talk about, we decided to show my las one. All those "series" I produced during a Artist Residence in Fazenda Catuçaba, in a small village called Catuçaba. During a year I visited several times this place and get to know better the people living there. Was such as great experience.

Há uns meses atrás, um amigo me chamou para participar da sessão Talento na revista Digital Photographer Brasil. É uma super oportunidade para um fotógrafo ter o material impresso em uma revista que valoriza isso.  Resolvi então falar um pouco sobre meu trabalho mais recente, as séries realizadas durante uma residência de artista na Fazenda Catuçaba, localizada perto da pequena vila de Catuçaba, na região de São Luís do Paraitinga. Produzi essas imagens durante 1 ano, visitando a cidade, fazenda e moradores ao longo desse tempo. Deste projeto também surgiu um filme documentário média-metragem, realizado em conjunto com o diretor Bruno Jorge, confira o trailer CATUÇABA.

During the year 2012 I started a company called João de Barro DOC. Together with the film director Bruno Jorge we produce photo and video. To get to know more about us go to ABOUT US.

Editorial | Travel Assignment | Gol Magazine

 In a two days trip I went from São Paulo to the country side of Minas Gerais State to a travel photo shooting for a very short story on the oldest "alambique" (liquor mill) in Brazil, dated form the eighteenth century, called Engenho Boa Vista in a small town named Coronel Xavier Chaves. This assignment was for the Brazilian Gol Magazine.

Cachaça is a Brazilian liquor obtained from the dregs of molasses sugar cane and distilled after fermentation. The fermentation is obtained because of the wealth of sugar liquid.  This preserved by the by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage.

Traíra Village - Parintintin indigenous land in Amazonas state.

Last september 2011 I was working with Conservation Strategy, covering the expedition of two different indigenous area in Brazil. The project is supported by US Agency for National Development and consist in create a business plan on tourism for indigenous land of two ethnicity. Parintintin in Amazonas State and Paiter-Surui in Rondônia State. This year, in july I went back to both lands together with the team of professionals to deliver the business plan and also to exhibit the photographs from last year. They received us with a traditional indigenous party. Here are some of the images from the exhibition.

Em setembro de 2011 estive fotografando para CSF, um projeto de desenvolvimento de um plano de turismo em terras indígenas. Nos estados do Amazonas e Rondônia, das etninas Parintintin e Paiter-Suruí. Este ano, em julho voltei para essas aldeias com a equipe de profissionais para entregar o plano de negócios já elaborado e também para expor as fotografias que eu e o fotógrafo Marcos Amend fizemos. Todos nos receberam lindamente com uma festa tradicional indígena. Em breve vou postar mais imagens dessa viagem.
